Overview

The Kardia 12L ECG System is a compact, FDA-cleared 12-lead electrocardiogram device intended for use by healthcare professionals. It combines simplified lead placement with advanced AI analysis to give robust cardiac data similar to traditional clinical ECG machines — but in a lightweight, portable form factor.

Key Features

  • True 12-lead ECG capability: Uses a reduced leadset with only five external electrodes and a single cable to acquire eight diagnostic-quality leads; the remaining four leads are computed or synthesized to produce a complete 12-lead ECG waveform.

  • Advanced AI analysis (KAI 12L): Powered by proprietary AI algorithms to detect a wide range of cardiac conditions (including arrhythmias, morphology abnormalities, and ischemic changes) with expert-level accuracy.

  • FDA-cleared determinations: Originally 35 cardiac determin- ations (arrhythmias + morphologies), with recent FDA clearance expanding this to 39 cardiac determinations including rhythm modifiers and axis abnormalities.

  • Portable & easy to use: Battery-powered, weighs ~0.3 lbs (≈135 g), and fits in a pocket — far smaller than standard 12-lead ECG machines.

  • Minimal training: Designed for rapid adoption in diverse clinical settings; requires only self-guided training for basic use.

  • Bluetooth connectivity: Connects to the KardiaStation™ app on iOS/Android so ECGs can be recorded, reviewed, and exported (e.g., PDF).
